Las Casitas

Las Casitas is a set of three small rural houses, built with traditional Canarian materials such as volcanic stones. These materials provide natural thermal insulation and blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, preserving the authenticity of local architecture.

Originally, Las Casitas was not intended as a residence but served as a storage facility or almacén for farming tools and harvested crops. The sturdy stone walls protected the equipment from rain and sun, offering a secure space for storing everything needed for working the land.

The surrounding fields, where a vineyard was once cultivated, are covered with a thick layer of jable, a type of volcanic gravel that helps retain soil moisture. This traditional technique, used in Canarian agriculture for centuries, allows crops to thrive even in the island’s dry climate by reducing evaporation and maintaining optimal soil conditions.

Over time, these buildings have been carefully restored, maintaining their rustic and authentic character while transforming into a welcoming retreat. Today, Las Casitas offers a unique experience to its guests, allowing them to stay in a place that tells the story of the region’s agricultural past, all while being immersed in the serenity of nature.
